U.S.M.C. AH-1W Super Cobra

Coast of Southern California, 23 June 1997 — Aviation Boatswain’s Mate Second Class (AB2) Mark Aguirre and Airman (AN) Chris Sanchez, USS Tarawa (LHA 1), signal landing procedures to a AH-1W Super Cobra from Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron-369 (HMLA 369) during “Exercise Kernel Blitz '97”. “Kernel Blitz” is taking place off the coast of Southern California and Camp Pendleton to train Navy and Marine Corps personnel in amphibious operations.
