USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69)

Norfolk, Virginia, 18 October 2005 — The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) gets underway from Naval Station Norfolk following the ship’s Post Shakedown Availability and Selected Restricted Availability. Eisenhower, celebrating her 28th birthday today, is at sea for Sea Trials, ending the final phase of the ship’s four-year midlife overhaul.
