Persian Gulf, 03 January 2005 — An SH-60B Seahawk helicopter lifts off from the guided missile destroyer USS Mason (DDG 87) to conduct an aerial security patrol over the Central Persian Gulf. Mason is on her first deployment to the Persian Gulf as part of the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) Carrier Strike Group, to support coalition efforts in the Global War on Terrorism.
