Arabian Gulf, 19 April 2005 — The pilots of a UH-1 Huey make final checks after refueling onboard USS Duluth (LPD 6) during routine flight operations while underway in the Arabian Gulf. The Huey is attached to Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 165 (HMM 165) “Reinforced” with 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) 15 Aviation Combat Element. Duluth is currently transiting through the Strait of Hormuz, signifying the end of their deployment to the Arabian Gulf and the last leg of it’s final underway period as a commissioned Navy vessel. Upon completion of the cruise Duluth is scheduled to be decommissioned ending a 39-year life cycle as a United States Ship. USS Duluth is part of Expeditionary Strike Group Five based in San Diego, California.
