U.S. Air Force V-22 Osprey

San Diego, 22 September 2006 — A U.S. Air Force 0027 V-22 Osprey prepares for an exhibition and training exercise with U.S. Navy SEALS at Naval Air Station North Island. The Osprey is a joint service, multi-mission aircraft with vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) capability. It performs VTOL missions as effectively as a conventional helicopter while also having the long-range cruise abilities of a twin turboprop aircraft.
