CH-53 Sea Stallion and CH-46 Sea Knight
Yuma, Arizona, 17 April 1997 —
CH-46 Sea Knight helicopters stir up a cloud of dust as they launch behind a CH-53 Sea Stallion on the desert floor, during Exercise Desert Punch. Desert Punch is a simulated helicopter assault mission involving over 60 helicopters from nine squadrons of Marine Aircraft Group 16. The helicopters launched from Marine Corps Air Stations El Toro and Tustin, California, and rendezvoused at the designated landing zone outside Yuma.
