U.S. Air Force MH-53J Pave Low

Mediterranean Sea, 04 February 1999 — An MH-53J Pave Low helicopter from the 352d Special Operations Group's 21st Special Operations Squadron, lands aboard a ship operating in the Mediterranean Sea. The helicopter, call sign SKAT 08, got an emergency call to evacuate a seaman with appendicitis for transport to the hospital in Lecce, Italy. The patient was transferred and is currently undergoing tests. The helicopter returned to Rindisi Air Station, Italy, without incident.
