SS-11 Missile

The SS-11 missile is a wire-guided missile flown by the gunner to its target. Not as accurate as the TOW missile but in the hands of a well trained gunner/pilot this missile could cause some serious damage. The SS-11 when first fielded in Vietnam did destroyed a couple of PT-76s and other targets. Being much older and not as accurate, the SS-11 could not compete with the much newer TOW system. The firing platform for the SS-11 was the UH-1M/C Huey gunship.
